Gladiator movie Summary

The film “Gladiator” takes place in ancient Rome, during the reign of Emperor Marcus Aurelius. The story follows general Maximus Decimus Meridius, who is loyal to the emperor and has won numerous battles in his name.
However, Marcus Aurelius’ son, the cruel Commodus, has other plans and murders his father to become the new emperor. Commodus orders the execution of Maximus and his family, but Maximus manages to escape and is captured as a slave.
